How the pandemic may affect your deliveries

We’re still open. As long as we remain in good health, and Royal Mail and global postal services remain open for business so will we. However, our service may be affected, read on to learn how it may impact you.

Possible delays

We’re still open and business (almost) as usual. However, the current pandemic and goverment lockdowns mean that staff shortages at Royal Mail and throughout postal services worldwide may lead to delays in you receiving your parcels. We will provide you with a reference number when we post your items so you will be able to keep an eye on the status of any parcels you are expecting by visiting Royal Mail Track and Trace.

From Tuesday 31 March 2020 onwards (until further notice) some expediated services may be suspended or have amended guarantee times. For example, Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 9.00am the next working day will change to by 12.00pm the next working day* and Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1.00pm will change to by 9.00pm the next working day*. Click here for more details. In addition, Parcelforce have supended suspension timed next day services and UK and international service guarantees until further notice (this will only affect purchases weighing more than 4KG which cannot be divided into smaller parcels). *existing postcode exceptions apply

Signing for your mail

This may differ slightly depending on your local mail service. In the case of UK deliveries by Royal Mail, in order to protect both themselves and customers, posties will not be handing over signature devices to customers for signing at this time. Having knocked on your door, they will then step aside to a safe distance and will instead log the name of the person accepting the item. This will apply to all deliveries that require a signature (so that’s all your post from Rag and Magpie). If you are unable to come to the door at all they will issue a ‘Something for You’ card, advising of other ways you can arrange to get your item. For changes to services outside the UK please check with your local national mail service provider.

Collections

The opening hours of your local mail collection points may have changed. Royal Mail have stated:

“We have changed the opening times of our Customer Services Points in our local delivery offices. Our largest locations will be open between 07:00-11:00am. All other Customer Service Points will be open between 07:00-09:00am. All will be closed on Wednesday and Sunday.”

For changes to collection points outside the UK please check with your local national mail service provider.

Any of this may change daily, we’ll endevour to keep this page updated whenever we have news.
