C.1950s Scalloped Embroidered Petticoat

A simply stunning well loved cream single layer petticoat with pink embroidery circa 1950s. The waist section is cream stretchy nlyon-like sythetic with an elastic ribbon encased at the waist. After a 5½ inch drop the petticoats fills outward with a gathered seam at the hip. The lower section is woven sythetic scattered with pale pink leaf patterned embroidery. The hem is scalloped and embroided with shiny pink thread.

Care Instructions: Cool handwash recommended.

Composition: Unconfirmed synthic, possibly nylon.

Condition: Used condition - some of the embroidery has deteriated with age or been moth eaten in storage (see image 5). Some tiny moth and wear related holes and ladders near the waist, almost all 1mm in size. One edge of french seam in side undone for 16cm. Has previously been repaired by hand in two places at the waist. No visible stains or marks.

All vintage nightwear and lingerie has been intensively washed and ironed before being added to the site.
