Circa 1940s-50s yoked winter nightgown and bed jacket set. Made from thick white and red polka-dot cotton with smocked frilled wrists to keep the chill from your arms. Three buttons fasten at the front, up to a frilled collar bound with red blanket stitch. The armholes and yoke across the chest snd back are also finished with a blanket stitch self-fabric frill. The wide maxi skirt of the nightie falls from the chest to the ankles.
This nightgown comes with a matching red polka-dot yoke bed jacket in red with white tiny polka-dot (inverse of the nightgown itself). It is designed so that when the pieces are worn together the frilled white collar will peek over the red round neckline of the bed jacket and the frilled sleeves of the nightdown peek from the tidy cuffs. The red fabric falls gathered from the yoke to waist. Edge to edge front with a hook and eye fastening at the neck.
Isn't this just the cutest winter nightwear you ever did see? Not only that but the inside of both pieces is beautifully finished and faced with flat felled and french seams, no a raw edge or overlock in sight! (From 1940s-50s pattern but could have been made later).
