Vintage 1940s-early 1950s bottle of 4711 Blue & Gold Eau De Cologne Double in original box. The 11cm bottle is two thirds full, labelled with the classic turquoise blue and gold 4711 label and in a beautiful turquoise and white patterned gift box with gold flowers and ribbons. Inside the box is finished with a turquoise and white snakeskin patterned relief paper. The bottle is embossed with the 4711 logo at the back and a small star on the base.
Although around since the 18th century, 4711 Eau De Cologne was very popular during the 1940s when the German navy issued it to their U-boat fleet many of whom kept it as a gift for their sweethearts. This particular bottle can be dated back to circa 1940s as it was unusually made in England by R. J. Reuter Co. (who made it during the war until 1953 when a case was opened about the rights).

Condition: Very good condition - bottle is pristine with no scratches of marks but has been opened and two thirds of the cologne remains. The box is intact with some colour fade, a few marks and wear at the edges.
